In only his third season in the NBA, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has already surpassed Michael Jordan in one category.

After finishing this afternoon's game, quite fittingly against Jordan's old team, the Chicago Bulls, Doncic accumulated 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 15 assists. This triple-double moved Doncic past Jordan into the 15th place on the NBA's all-time triple-double list, per the Mavs.

Not only did this game move him past Jordan on the triple-double list, but his 35-15-15 stat line was only the eighth time that feat has been accomplished in NBA history, joining Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, and James Harden in accomplishing the rare achievement. Robertson has accomplished it the most, pulling it off five times.

Doncic has become one of the most dynamic players in the league and in NBA history to start his career. Last season, in his sophomore year in the league, he broke Magic Johnson's record for most triple-doubles before the age of 21, accumulating 21 of them. Besides Jordan, he has already passed the likes of Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Elgin Baylor on the all-time triple-double list.

While these accomplishments are big for the young star and he has shown that he is one of the most dynamic players in the NBA today in his short time, Doncic would like to add some team accomplishments to his list of accolades. The Mavs lost to the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs in the bubble last season, losing the first game in controversial fashion after Kristaps Porzingis was ejected from the game in the third quarter due to accumulating two technical fouls.
