Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic continues to show signs of greatness. This time, the 20-year-old budding superstar joined Golden State Warriors superstar and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Steph Curry on the third spot in most three-pointers made by a rookie.

Doncic hit a three-pointer with 2:20 left in their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. According to Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News, it was Doncic's 166th three-pointer of the season, tying the record set by Curry during the 2009-10 NBA season.

The Slovenian rookie still has a chance to move up to solo third with still four games left to play this season. He could still end the season on top of the record book for most three-pointers by a player in his rookie season, but he has a lot of catching up to do. Damian Lillard is second on the list with 185, while Donovan Mitchell is first with 187.

Doncic had another solid night for the Mavericks, as he finished with 27 points on 11-for-21 shooting from the field. The 20-year-old rookie also added 12 rebounds, six assists, and a block but it was still not enough, as Dallas took a 110-108 loss to the Timberwolves at home. The Mavs dropped to 31-47, which is currently the second-worst record in the Western Conference.

Karl-Anthony Towns torched the Mavs with 28 points on 12-for-15 shooting to go along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. Andrew Wiggins posted 19 points, Tyus Jones had 15 markers, while Dario Saric ended up with 14 to help the Timberwolves notch their 35th win against 43 defeats this season.
