Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was appreciative after learning there has been a surge of babies being named ā€˜ā€Lukaā€ amid his rise to superstardom in the NBA.

While the Mavs star thinks it's not all because of him, he shared that it still feels special to have such a huge impactā€“not only in Dallas but also in a global scale.

While there is still no exact data on how high the surge has been on babies being named Luka, it won't be surprising if there would be several ā€œLuka'sā€ in the Dallas area in a few years. After all, the Mavs star has not only established himself as the face of the franchise, but he has also given hope that a second championship will be coming to the city sooner rather than later.

Dallas is poised to make the playoffs once again for the second straight yearā€“in just Luka Doncic's third year in the league. The team missed it in Dirk Nowitzki's final season with the team, but things seem toĀ  be trending at the right direction since the Big German passed the torch to his fellow European standout.

Hopefully, like Dirk, Luka stays with the Mavs throughout his career. Of course, that will depend on Mark Cuban, Rick Carlisle and Co. if they can surround him with the necessary pieces to compete in the ever-competitive NBA basketball.

For now, however, fans can enjoy watching Luka Magic and naming their future children after him.
