Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is pretty pumped that Luka Doncic and the Mavs will take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas.

The NBA only puts the best players and teams on the Christmas schedule. Doncic, who has taken the league by storm, will get to face one of the players he looked up to growing up in James on national television come Dec. 25. Luka Doncic is going to be in the MVP conversation this upcoming season with LeBron James. The Slovenian superstar is primed to lead the Mavs to the promised land with Kristaps Porzingis as his partner in crime, but Doncic first has to get past James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers, who are the defending champions.

NBA fans are in for a treat with the Mavs and Lakers playing on Christmas. A game featuring Luka, LeBron, Porzingis and Davis will certainly be thrilling from start to finish.

Mark Cuban has to be excited that he has a new franchise player in Doncic in the post-Dirk Nowitzki era. It's not easy for teams to replace a franchise icon like Nowitzki so easily, but the Mavs lucked out with Doncic.

Last season, Luka averaged 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from beyond the arc and 75.8 percent from the free throw line. He led the Mavs to the 2020 playoffs, where Dallas ultimately fell to the Los Angeles Clippers in six games.
