Clearly, frustration got the best of Rick Carlisle, Luka Doncic, and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday as they suffered their third straight loss after bowing to the Sacramento Kings. Both Carlisle and Doncic hit the showers early as they were ejected in the lopsided 111-99 outing at home.

After the disappointing loss, Carlisle was quick to address the ejection party that occurred. Responding to Doncic being called for his 14th and 15th technical fouls this season, which puts the MVP candidate one away from being suspended for a game, Carlisle admitted he should've kept his cool as well (via Bally Sports Southwest).

“It's something we've been making him (Doncic) aware of. I set a poor example tonight by getting two myself. So that's on me. I apologized to the team after the game for it, too. It's not the right example.”

But Carlisle wasn't done. He went on to mention that he's already been called four technical fouls this season by the same official, ending his thought with a telling quote.

“There's a saying that goes, ‘Reasonable men have a right to disagree' and I'll stick with that.”

Carlisle didn't mention the exact referee, but a pool report released by the NBA showed veteran official Rodney Mott explaining the ejections of Carlisle and Doncic were warranted. He said Carlisle addressed the officials in a disrespectful manner using vulgarity which earned him his second technical foul. Doncic, meanwhile, threw the ball to the other end during a dead-ball situation, which was deemed as unsportsmanlike.

Is there something more to Rick Carlisle's observation? Or should just he and Luka Doncic keep their emotions in check.
