Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic has put the NBA on notice during his second season in the league.

After claiming the league's Rookie of the Year honors in 2018-19, the Mavs rising star has firmly entrenched himself as one of the premier players in the world during 2019-20. In fact, even Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has taken full notice.

“He was already a great player last year, borderline All-Star. He's for sure an All-Star this year,” Kerr said, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

Kerr's statement came shortly prior to tip-off between Golden State and Dallas on Wednesday. It is the first time that the two franchises are meeting since March 23, when Doncic put together a triple-double.

Through his first 13 games, Doncic has averaged a monstrous line of 29.5 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists per contest, which has placed him not only in All-Star conversation but the wider MVP race alongside Houston Rockets star James Harden and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Kerr knows all about coaching All-Stars over the past five seasons, even as his current roster construction looks like a shell of its former self.

When it comes to naming All-Stars, Doncic will actually benefit from the absence of both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who are sidelined due to injury. After all, the duo was a near lock for two of the Western Conferences guard spots on a yearly basis.

Barring a severe downturn in play, Doncic will be an All-Star come February. The bigger question is whether or not he will be named MVP in June.
