After recently firing Dave Joerger from his head coaching position, the Memphis Grizzlies have been on the hunt for a replacement to take the helm. While they have shown interest in multiple coaches from other teams, it now look like they are considering promoting from within.

Assistant coach Jeff Bzdelik is the new candidate that Memphis brass are considering as their new head coach, according to Mark J. Spears of ESPN:

It seems if Bzedlik isn't retained by the Grizzlies, he may leave for the Houston Rockets job if offered. However, the Rockets have seemingly spoken with every possible coaching candidate, and seem to have settled on Mike D'Antoni.

The Grizzlies are also considering other assistant coaches around the league, including Spurs assistant James Borrego, Heat assistant David Fizzle, and Hornets assistant Patrick Ewing.
