On Thursday, Nov. 17 in Oklahoma City, Thunder star Russell Westbrook will be inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

His former running mate, Kevin Durant, was inducted last year, memorably saying: “hopefully we'll be here next year for Russell Westbrook's induction.”

By the looks of it, the “we” won't include Durant this time, given the sour break of their relationship after choosing to sign with the Golden State Warriors. The anticipation to see who would present Westbrook for such a huge honor was even bigger than before.

As it turns out, an even bigger basketball name will be in town to honor the star point guard- none other than Michael Jordan, as reported by NewsOK.com.

The legendary six-time champion has a direct relationship with Westbrook, even prior to him signing with his shoe company in 2012.

“We are truly excited to have Michael Jordan presenting Russell Westbrook, and we are equally fortunate to have a full slate of accomplished presenters joining us at this year's ceremony,” said Shannon Rich, president and CEO of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and Gaylord-Pickens Museum. “They provide us a meaningful opportunity to celebrate this year's inductees and forward our mission of telling Oklahoma's story through its people.”

The Thunder scoring machine didn't take the honor or the presence of Jordan for granted and was effusively thankful for both.

“It's definitely a huge honor in itself for M.J. to come down to Oklahoma and take part in the Oklahoma Hall of Fame festivities,” said Westbrook in a a statement. “It really means a lot to me that he's going to be there, and it's something that I definitely don't take for granted.”
