One of the premier matchups in Week 9 of the college football season will have No. 6 Michigan traveling to take on No. 8 Michigan State.

It's a rivalry that needs no introduction and with both teams undefeated through seven games, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has quite the mindset for his team entering this contest (per mlive.com).

“You talk about all the way to the — win the conference, win the national championship? Yeah, it’s an elimination mindset, playoff mindset at this point. Win this game, it will help your chances.”

It's that elimination mindset that both Michigan and Michigan State should be bringing to the table on Saturday. Both teams are undefeated but both face daunting schedules through the B1G the rest of the way in the regular season. Ohio State and Penn State both loom on both the Wolverines and the Spartans' schedule the rest of the way.

Harbaugh knows it's a “one game at a time” approach with so many big ones left, but the intensity is certainly be dialed up for both Michigan and Michigan State.

“There’s the approach of ‘one game at a time,’ which you need to do,” Harbaugh said. “You have to do that and you have to practice that and it has to be implemented, less a team be painfully humbled. Now we’re in a situation, huge game, in some ways that mindset is similar, but in other ways it definitely gets turned up a notch.”

Week 9's tilt in East Lansing could go a long way in determining who comes out of the B1G East this year.
