The Michigan football team is hoping to get hot on the recruiting trail as we hit the summer months, and the ball could get rolling soon. The Wolverines currently only have five commits in their 2025 class, but the cycle is still early and there is a lot of time for things to pick up. Michigan has a lot of targets that are uncommitted still, and one of those targets is four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows. Meadows just dropped his top five and Michigan made the list.

“‘I will pick one of these five schools when I commit,'” Elite 4-star WR Derek Meadows tells @ChadSimmons_ he is getting down to crunch time in his recruitment,” On3 Recruits said in a tweet.

This would be a good way for Michigan football to get the ball rolling in terms of recruiting. The Wolverines need to get some recruits, and getting a highly-ranked four-star prospect would be a good start.

Derek Meadows is a top-75 recruit

Derek Meadows is a four-star recruit according to 247 Sports, and he is the #62 player in the 2025 class. He is the #9 wide receiver in the class, and he is the top player in the state of Nevada. Meadows currently attends Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Wolverines are fighting with four other schools to land a commitment from Meadows. He is between Michigan, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame and Georgia. There is some stiff competition for the Wolverines here. Meadows has some good options to choose from.

Right now, Notre Dame appears to be leading the way in the recruitment of Meadows. He currently has a crystal ball to commit the Fighting Irish, but at this point, the only person who knows where he is at is Meadows himself.

Hopefully for Michigan football they can get heat up on the recruiting trial in the coming months. Landing Meadows would be big, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if they missed on him. The Wolverines have a good amount of targets that have listed Michigan as finalists, and they should be able to get some commitments soon.
