It's been an up and down season for the Michigan State Spartans, but the program will be partaking in this year's Peach Bowl against the Pittsburgh Panthers. However, they'll be without superstar running back Kenneth Walker III, as he has other plans for his future in the NFL.

According to Field Yates, one of the nation's elite running back talents has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft. For that reason, Walker will not be joining Michigan State in the Peach Bowl. Instead, he will be preparing himself for his professional football career.

This has become a common practice, especially amongst the top talent across the nation. Winning the Peach Bowl isn't a monumental moment for Michigan State and Kenneth Walker has already proven he's capable of playing in the NFL. There's no reason to risk a serious injury in a meaningless bowl game.

Walker is viewed as one of the best available running backs in the upcoming NFL Draft. He's been a monster during his tenure at Michigan State. However, the league is in the middle of a shift, as the running back position is not as prominent as it once was.

For that reason, Kenneth Walker is likely to be selected in the latter portion of round one, potentially falling into the second round. The Michigan State star has all of the makings to be a consistent starter in the NFL and could land with an organization already built for a playoff run.

We'll see how his draft stock holds up throughout the offseason. Walker will likely participate in the NFL combine and meet with multiple franchises leading up to the Draft. Regardless, what he's done at Michigan State will be enough to catch the eyes of every scout in the league.
