Jason Momoa, known by many as DC Universe's Aqua Man, is reportedly starring in an upcoming Minecraft movie.

Looks like Warner Bros. is finally making big moves to once and for all commence production for the Minecraft movie. Part of the steps they are taking is entering negotiations with Jason Momoa. It appears that Warner Bros. is interested in getting him to voice the movie's main protagonist, which is probably going to be Minecraft Steve. In addition to this potential acquisition, the studio also tapped Nacho Libre director Jared Hess to direct the movie.

The addition of Momoa and Hess comes as good news for Warner Bros. According to The Ankler, the studio’s rights to Minecraft will expire in January 2023. Obviously, we're already moving towards the latter end of their production timeline, but with eight months left in the picture, it might be enough reason for fans to feel a bit anxious about the film's quality. We're sure to see trailers popping up in the next couple of months, though.

Following the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise, Warner Bros. aims to replicate the same milestone for Minecraft. According to reports, if the first movie does well, then a sequel will most likely follow in the future. Given the popularity of Minecraft, chances for success are high as long as this first film is masterfully done.
