The Minnesota Vikings Week 17 matchup against the Green Bay Packers has everything on the line. With Green Bay having already clinched the NFC North, Minnesota desperately needs a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. We take a look at this Vikings-Packers game with some of our Vikings Week 17 predictions in mind.
Slowing down the Packers' offense is a daunting task. However, the Vikings defeated Green Bay earlier in the season, which bodes well for Minnesota. Even so, if they hope to win, they must do the unthinkable and shut down Aaron Rodgers.
Although it's been a bit rocky, the offense is where the Vikings thrive. With Adam Thielen ruled out, Minnesota could be in trouble. Regardless, they still have plenty of firepower. Look for KJ Osborne to fill in for Thielen, while Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson do their thing. If this team can come together at the right time, they'll be able to upset the Packers on Sunday.
With that said, here are four bold Vikings Week 17 predictions for their game against the Packers.

Vikings Week 17 Predictions
4. Vikings defense surprisingly shuts down Aaron Rodgers
This is leaning on the impossible side of things but it's necessary if Minnesota hopes to win. Aaron Rodgers has been unstoppable this season as he's led the Packers to the league's best record. Regardless, it's time for the Vikings' defense to buckle down and prevent Rodgers from lighting up the field.
To do that, they must apply pressure and bother Aaron Rodgers at will. His toe still bothers him quite a bit, so his mobility is in question. If the Vikings can get in his face, it'll give Minnesota a fighting chance. Look for this defense to get aggressive as they fight for their postseason lives.
3. KJ Osborn fills in for Adam Thielen, reels in 1 touchdown
Adam Thielen was sent to the IR after re-injuring his ankle in Week 16. It's not ideal, as he's been an incredible second option in the Vikings' passing game. Even so, KJ Osborn has been a reliable target this year and has another chance to prove himself on Sunday night. Look for Osborn to make some noise, as he could prove to be Thielen's replacement in a year or two.
2. Dalvin Cook bounces back with 100+ yards and 1 touchdown
The Vikings were without Dalvin Cook in their last game due to COVID. However, it appears the superstar receiver is back in the lineup as he prepares to take on the Packers. He played well against Green Bay in their first matchup this year. Hopefully lightning can strike twice, as Minnesota needs Cook to perform at his best.
Luckily for Minnesota, they utilize a run-first offense. Dalvin Cook has been consistent (when healthy) and should have a solid performance on Sunday. If the Vikings can control the clock and tire out Green Bay's defense with the run, their chances of winning drastically increase.
1. Justin Jefferson puts on a show with 150+ yards and 3+ touchdowns
The Vikings struck gold after drafting Justin Jefferson, as he's been one of the best receivers in the league since his arrival. He's breaking records previously set by Odell Beckham Jr. and Hall of Fame legend Randy Moss. Minnesota needs that type of production against the Packers to stay within reach of the postseason. With his team being on the NFL's center stage, Justin Jefferson is bound to put on a show.
