The Major League Baseball Hall of Fame has announced its 2022 inductees and there was only one player on the list. David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox was the lone player of this year's Hall of Fame class to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Among those players that were left off the list, the most notable being Barry Bonds, arguably the greatest baseball player of all time.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported that David Ortiz used to idolize Barry Bonds when he was a younger player. He feels that Bonds should have an opportunity to be in the Hall of Fame

“I know there's a lot of things going on, but to me, he was a Hall of Famer before all of the talk and all of the things. He played the game to a different level.”

Everything that David Ortiz is saying is correct. Barry Bonds had arguably the greatest career that any baseball player could imagine having. He holds the home run record and is arguably the most feared player of all time. During the 2001 season, Bonds hit 73 home runs.

Major League Baseball has not done a great job with the Hall of Fame in the past few years. Many of the issues that the Hall of Fame voters are currently facing is that they are not sure if they are going to allow players who have admittedly taking steroids throughout their career into Cooperstown, Ortiz did not admit to it.

David Ortiz surely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, but the voters are not having the same rules for each player. There were many reports that David Ortiz also took steroids throughout his career, but it looks like the voters did not care about that and only cared that Barry Bonds did.
