The Tampa Bay Rays traded away Willy Adames to the Milwaukee Brewers earlier in the season, perhaps signaling the decision to bring up Wander Franco. Well, it didn't happen, and everybody was confused.

Fast forward to Sunday, and the Rays have finally decided to make the decision to call up Wander Franco, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

According to MLB Pipeline, Franco is the number one prospect in baseball, and why the Rays waited until now to call him up is a mystery. Nonetheless, it's finally Wander time in Tampa Bay, and Rays fans can rejoice for their prized prospect.

Franco was smacking .394 in the month of June in the minors with Durham and totaled 35 RBIs in 38 games to lead the entire Triple-A East, making it even more confusing and puzzling for the Rays decision to leave him down there.

For the sake of Tampa Bay, they are neck and neck with the Boston Red Sox for the top spot in the American League East. Ironically enough, Franco will join the team on Tuesday, against the Red Sox, and a chance to claim the top mark in the division.

Rays fans– and baseball fans– it is Wander time, finally. Rejoice.
