In a story that is certainly gaining a lot of reaction on social media, MLB is in talks with Barstool Sports to team up for some sort of gambling broadcasts that would feature MLB games on the Barstool platform.

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, talks have gained steam but nothing is imminent.

Major League Baseball and Barstool Sports have had significant negotiations about having national midweek games on the site’s platforms, The Post has learned.

MLB and Barstool potentially could team up to create a new type of broadcast with a focus on in-game gambling.

The talks have started recently, and while they have picked up steam, an agreement is not yet a certainty. One source deemed it “50-50.”

The move, if it happens, would absolutely get plenty of attention. Barstool Sports is the outlet that everyone either loves or can't stand. There isn't a lot of in-between whatsoever.

It's clear that MLB is not only looking for ways to bring in a younger audience but, they're also looking for ways to get the gambling side of things involved. Barstool Sports would be the premier outlet if that's the goal for MLB.

Barstool recently acquired the rights to The Arizona Bowl, dipping their toes into the college football waters. Now, it appears they've taken aim at MLB. Although Marchand reports that a deal is probably at 50-50 right now, it is a report itself that has made waves across social media already.

Love them or hate them, Barstool Sports would 100% bring a different and unique style to MLB and broadcasts if the two sides end up shaking hands.
