Former MLB star and seven-time Cy Young award-winner Roger Clemens enjoyed a stellar, 24-year career in the big leagues, leaving his mark as one of the greatest pitchers to ever step onto the mound. Now, Clemens' son Kody will get a chance to leave his own mark on the MLB. Clemens was called up to the big leagues by the Detroit Tigers ahead of their game against the Minnesota Twins on Monday, per the team's Twitter account.

The Tigers' no. 17-ranked prospect, Clemens was recalled from Triple-A Toledo, Detroit's minor league affiliate, before the divisional clash with the Twins. The 26-year-old was not in the starting lineup for Monday's contest.

Clemens, a product of Texas, has played all over the diamond, though he has spent most of his time at second base. In 325 games in the minors, he posted a .252/.320/.444 triple slash line with 43 homers, 175 RBI, and 165 runs scored.

He is the first of Roger Clemens' four sons to make the MLB. The former third-round pick was called up to replace the injured Robbie Grossman, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a neck sprain.

Clemens should see some time in the outfield as a result. His .844 OPS in Triple-A ball thus far should translate well to the majors, as should his impressive pedigree.
