The Los Angeles Dodgers have once again tackled an item from their offseason checklist. This time around, they resolved a notable dilemma regarding manager Dave Roberts.

According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the Dodgers and Roberts have come to terms on a three-year contract extension deal. Roberts is now tied with the Dodgers up until the 2025 season.

Roberts’ future with the Dodgers was a talking point ever since the conclusion of the team’s 2021 campaign. The one-time World Series-winning manager had a mere one season left on his contract with the team; he signed off on a four-year extension deal in Dec. 2018.

Roberts did note earlier in the month that he aimed to sign off on a new extension deal “sooner than later” and that he was “really close” to finalizing such an agreement with team officials. Now, he can finally put this dilemma behind him after adding three more seasons to his current contract.

Roberts has managed the Dodgers for six seasons, which has included five NL West titles and three appearances in the World Series. He has also guided the team to 90-plus wins in each of his years so far in Los Angeles.

Overall, Roberts heads into the upcoming campaign with plenty of expectations on his plate, especially after he made a prediction that the Dodgers “will win” the 2022 World Series.

The Dodgers will kick off regular season play with a three-game road series against the Colorado Rockies on April 8.
