The Los Angeles Dodgers are known for their ability to get the most out of their players. This has certainly been the case in terms of starting pitching. Clayton Kershaw developed into a Hall of Fame destined left-hander, while Walker Buehler and Julio Urias have emerged as stars in the rotation. But Tony Gonsolin has arguably been the Dodgers Cy Young through the first two months of the 2022 MLB season.
Gonsolin lowered his ERA to 1.42 after shutting out the Angels over 6.1 innings on Tuesday night in LA. Additionally, the right-hander struck out 6 in the effort. The aforementioned 1.42 ERA is not only the best mark for the Dodgers, but is the best in all of baseball. He also leads the league in wins.
The right-hander commented on consistently giving the Dodgers opportunities to win after the game.

Manager Dave Roberts added his thoughts on Tony Gonsolin's superb season.
“I just think he has real confidence. To have that, to develop that, it takes time and it takes consistent performance. Right now, this is as confident as he’s been in his own abilities and he’s scratching the surface on some really good things moving forward.”
The Dodgers weren't sure what the future held for Gonsolin prior to the season. He was a guy who always possessed potential. However, LA had used him in relief roles before. There wasn't any guarantee that he was even going to factor into the rotation.
But Dave Roberts and the Dodgers have to be happy they gave Gonsolin a shot on the starting staff. As of now, he is a strong candidate to start the All-Star game for the National League.
