The Atlanta Braves managed to strike first in Game 7 of the NLCS by taking advantage of some suspect pitching from the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, it was only a matter of time before Will Smith offered up a rebuttal.

Smith came through with a single to right center to tie the game at two for the Dodgers, via MLB Twitter:

Smith has not shied away from the big stage and high expectations in Los Angeles this postseason. Despite being on with two outs, his efforts in bringing in third baseman Justin Turner and first basemen Max Muncy are indicative of his ability to step up when needed for the Dodgers.

Although it was the Dodgers who struggled from the mound to start the game, it appears the tables may have started to turn in their favor. Given how active the bats have been early on, the outcome may very well be decided on which staff is able to cool things down first.
