Dallas Mavericks sensation Luka Doncic was one of the players that had to take a backseat in what was a thrilling All-Star Game on Sunday night. Being one of the top vote-getters in the entire league, the Mavs stud earned the honor of starting for Team LeBron, but was never really able to get it going on the evening.

Doncic logged just 17 minutes of action, finishing with eight points on 3-of-6 shooting, along with two triples, one rebound, four assists, and a steal. This is definitely not the Doncic line we've grown accustomed to seeing, and it wouldn't be a surprise if this ends up as his worst output of the entire season.

Doncic's side got the hotly-contested win over Team Giannis, with Team LeBron edging out their opponents, 157-155. After the game, the 20-year-old opened up about his experience in what was his first career All-Star appearance. Doncic did not seem to mind the lack of impact he had in the ballgame, conceding that he did not think he deserved to be on the floor in the dying moments of the matchup.

Doncic appeared to be happy to just take part in the spectacle, knowing full well that there was no shortage of star-power on both teams. The Slovenian national is just in his second season in the league, and there is no doubt that he will have much more All-Star appearances in the years to come. Surely, Doncic's time will come.

In the meantime, though, the young star was just pleased to be there. He even admitted that he got a little bit starstruck with all the celebrities in attendance. Doncic is apparently a huge Cardi B fan, and he even went on to say that the female rapper was his favorite sighting of the evening.

Doncic will have a few more days off before returning to action for the Mavs. They are currently seventh in the West with a 33-22 record, and it looks like they will be battling for their playoff spot until the very end of the regular season.
