Cunningham stepped it up big time in this one. Not only were his Cowboys taking on the heavily-favored Oklahoma in their interstate rivalry game, but the contest also happened to take place on Oklahoma’s home floor. Talk about a clutch performance. In case you needed further proof, though, here’s a clip of a Cade Cunningham game-winner from earlier in the season.
Cunningham finished the game with a career-high 40 points (on 12-of-21 from the field and 13-of-14 from the charity stripe), to go along with 11 rebounds, one assist, three steals, two blocks, and three triples in 44 minutes of action.
Cade Cunningham’s stock continues to rise as he firmly establishes himself as the top prospect in the upcoming draft. He is easily the best player of his class at this point, and it would be a surprise if he does not end up as the first overall pick come the NBA Draft.
