The general consensus among experts and fans alike is that Deandre Ayton is going to be selected by the Phoenix Suns as this year’s top overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.  At least one person, however, is not taking that well.

According to the Bob Baum of the Associated Press, Marvin Bagley III is not taking these rumors well, as he feels disrespected by people overlooking him as a potential No. 1 pick.

Via NBA.com:

“It's disrespectful and I use it as drive every single day,” he said. “At the end of the day, this is all talk right now. Eventually we'll have to go on the court and we'll have to play. That's where all the talking ends.”

Prior to saying that, Marvin Bagley III, expressed his confidence in his potential to be the top pick of the Phoenix Suns.

“I definitely believe I'm the No. 1 pick,” Bagley said, “and if the Suns take me I'll definitely show them why.”

Bagley had a chance to show the Suns his abilities on the court last Friday when Phoenix hosted him for an exclusive workout.

Considering that Bagley grew up in Tempe and played high school basketball in Phoenix, it’s understandable why the Duke Blue Devil product is very much interested in being a future Sun. A double-double machine back in Durham, Bagley averaged 21.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in 32 games with Duke. He was also named the ACC Player of the Year.

Should the Suns select another player as the top pick, Bagley will likely be taken off the board by any of the teams with a high pick like the Sacramento Kings (No. 2), Atlanta Hawks (No. 3), and the Memphis Grizzlies (N0. 4).

The 2018 NBA Draft will be held this June 21 in Brooklyn.
