Trae Young might be lacking a few NBA skills in the eyes of scouts and front office personnel, but confidence is surely not one of them.

The Oklahoma Sooners sensation was prompted with a rather interesting question as a guest on The Dan Patrick Show, asking how he'd do in a shooting contest against two of the league's best sharpshooters in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

His response left nothing to be desired.

“It'd be a battle, but I feel like I'd come out with the win,” Young replied with a smile. “I have a lot of respect for guys like Steph and Klay. I respect their games, but I definitely have a lot of confidence in myself.”

Young has drawn comparisons to a young Curry coming out of Davidson after declaring for the 2009 NBA Draft due to his smaller size at 6-foot-2 and 183 pounds and his shooting ability, able to launch from beyond NBA range with relative ease.

The freshman led the nation in scoring with 27.4 points and assists with 8.7 dimes per game, but his propensity to turn the ball over and get knocked off the ball has created questions in the eyes of talent evaluators. He shot 36 percent from deep in his lone season at Oklahoma while Curry shot 39 percent prior to vaulting into the NBA, and Thompson shot a solid 40 percent.

He remains poised to be a top-10 pick, likely ranging in the lower end of the spectrum, yet remaining a rather enigmatic choice in the lottery, going as high as seventh and as low as 14th in various mock drafts.
