For the first time in over a month of NBA Playoffs action, Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors suited up for a game. It just so happens that this is likely the most important game in recent Warriors franchise history, as the team finds themselves in the unenviable position of being down three games to one on the road.

Durant suffered what was deemed a “mild calf strain” in the Golden State's second-round series win against the Houston Rockets and he has not been seen in the Playoffs since.

Now, as soon as he’s back in action in Game 5, Durant gets to work against the Raps. Durant promptly splashed two three-pointers against his Finals foe, then proceeded to get in the grill of Toronto folk hero Fred VanVleet after the two shared some extracurricular activities while Durant guarded Steady Freddie:

As you can see, Durant relished the opportunity to get under an opposing player’s skin, though VanVleet seemed to give just as much as he got from one of the best players in the NBA, leading to the two of them ending the minor scuffle in smiles.

The Golden State are facing steep odds in this do-or-die Game 5, and they will definitely need Durant’s scoring and defense in order to hang with a disciplined and multifaceted Raptors team.
