All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard still hasn't made his free-agent decision yet, and according to a report by FS1's Cris Carter, the reigning Finals MVP does not plan to make his announcement on the 4th of July:

Carter, who's close with Leonard's camp, has been giving numerous updates on this situation. If he's to be believed, people can go about enjoying their holiday, though things can always change.

Three teams have remained as serious contenders to sign Leonard: the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers, and Los Angeles Lakers. Kawhi has already met with these franchises and is now taking his time before making a decision.

Should Leonard return to Toronto, he will have an opportunity to play with the same guys who helped him take down the Golden State Warriors to win the title. The Raptors plan to run it back if Kawhi returns to the fold, which would again make them a title favorite next season.

If Kawhi joins the Lakers, a superteam would be formed as they would boast three of the top players in the league in Leonard, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. A lot of people are already saying that this team would be capable of winning multiple championships.

If the Clippers end up with Kawhi, then he will have a chance of leading another franchise to a championship without the help of a superstar in his prime. He already did it with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014 and the Raptors this past season, so it would definitely help his legacy if he joins the less prominent LA team and helps them win their first-ever championship.

What team will it be? It seems we may not be finding out for another day.
