The NBA will make its return to Mexico City this upcoming 2017-18 season, where the Brooklyn Nets will face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 7 and the Miami Heat on Dec. 9.
The games will mark the first instance in which the NBA has hosted four regular-season contests in Mexico in the same calendar year, according to NBA.com. The Phoenix Suns took on the Dallas Mavericks back on Jan. 12 and then on the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 14 earlier this year in Mexico City.
These games are slated to be broadcast live by ESPN and Televisa in Mexico and will be available to fans around the world on the NBA app.
International games, whether in London or Mexico City have proven to be a huge success as the NBA tries to expand its reach along the myriad of clinics, camps, and events that take place during the offseason.
The world has started to embrace the biggest basketball league in the world and its players, a league that is getting more and more diverse every season, boasting players from different countries.
The Nets will boast the No. 2 overall draft pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, D’Angelo Russell along with Jeremy Lin. The Heat will roll out point guard Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside, who led the league in rebounds last season.
The Thunder trot out the league's Most Valuable Player in Russell Westbrook along with his new teammate in four-time NBA All-Star swingman Paul George.
