Fans have been calling for James Dolan to sell the New York Knicks for a long, long time. The clamor for Dolan to sell his stakes with the Knickerbockers only increased after their failure to land any of the top free agents this offseason.

It didn't help that most of the top stars like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving seemingly didn't even consider the Knicks this summer despite being rumored to be their preferred destination. Fans and analysts alike also blame Dolan for being the root cause of the team's problems and dysfunction.

Despite all the issues surrounding the team and their owner, Dolan hasn't given any indication that he plans to sell the Knicks. Even NBA commissioner Adam Silver believes that he won't be giving up ownership anytime soon, telling Alexandra Steigrad of the New York Post that he has no reason to believe that Dolan will part ways with his New York franchise.

“I have no reason to believe he is going to sell the Knicks because it’s a public company and he said he’s not selling the Knicks.”

The Knicks haven't been in the playoffs since 2013, and they have been one of the worst teams in the league during that span. They tried to rebuild through the draft, but they keep missing out on the good players. The one guy that they drafted who could potentially be a franchise player, Kristaps Porzingis, has even been traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Dolan continues to resist the outcry from fans, but he's done nothing significant for the Knicks throughout his tenure. New York gans can only hope that things will change for the better moving forward.
