Milwaukee Bucks swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo, Houston Rockets guard James Harden and Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Paul George have been named finalists for the 2019 MVP award.

Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to the best record in the NBA this season. The three-time All-Star averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game while shooting 57.8 percent from the floor and 72.9 percent from the free-throw line. Milwaukee won 60 games.

Harden, the reigning MVP, led the NBA in scoring again. The Beard put up 36.1 points and scored at least 30 points 32 games in a row at one point in the season for the Rockets. Harden scored at least 50 points nine times. He shot 44.2 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 87.9 percent from the foul line. The Rockets won 53 games.

For the Thunder, George averaged 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 43.8 percent overall, 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line. Unfortunately for George, he suffered from a shoulder injury which affected his play down the stretch of the season. It's why many believe the 2019 MVP award will come down to Giannis and Harden. The Thunder won 49 games.

The MVP is the most prestigious individual award in the NBA. The winner will be announced at the awards show in June.
