Duke freshman forward Cam Reddish has declared for the 2019 NBA draft, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The 6-foot-8, 218-pounder saw his draft stock drop as much as any other prospect in the 2019 class during the college basketball season. Shoehorned into a complementary role at Duke due to the presence of surefire No. 1 pick Zion Williamson and likely top-three selection R.J. Barrett, Reddish struggled to adjust. He averaged 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.6 steals in 29.7 minutes per game for the Blue Devils, shooting an ugly 35.6 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from deep on a high number of attempts.

Considered a dark horse contender for the first overall pick coming into 2018-19, Reddish will enter the pre-draft process as a near-guaranteed lottery selection, but is unlikely to re-emerge as a truly elite prospect in this class. Murray State point guard Ja Morant, Virginia forward DeAndre Hunter, Texas Tech wing Jarrett Culver, and Vanderbilt floor general Darius Garland all leapfrogged him in the minds of scouts over the course of the season.

Still, the team who makes Reddish a lottery pick will do so believing the NBA will provide a much better ecosystem for him to thrive than the one in which he played at Duke. The NBA is always in dire need of long athletes capable of handling the ball, knocking down jumpers, and guarding multiple positions, and Reddish, even if he'll never be a superstar, still has a chance to fit that bill regardless of his struggles as a freshman.

Needless to say, keep a watchful eye on his draft stock leading up to June 20th.
