Many on NBA Twitter are reflecting back on Carmelo Anthony's career and legacy as he prepares to join another team. It's almost a foregone conclusion that he joins the Houston Rockets, but many are questioning whether or not he makes the Rockets a better team. That's a fair question.

But many are also questioning whether or not Carmelo Anthony is a Hall of Famer. That's an absolutely ridiculous question entirely.

Anthony's NBA, college, and international accolades are more than enough to secure his place as a first-ballot Hall of Famer. But his numbers are even more insane when compared to some of the all-time greats.

Melo is undoubtedly one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the league. He's in elite company here. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James aren't just some of the best scorers in NBA history, they're some of the best players in NBA history.

For anyone to doubt Anthony's chances at the Hall of Fame is almost laughable. Of course, he has some fatal flaws, but his deficiencies are often magnified for one reason or another.

He's never had success in the playoffs and that's probably the biggest knock on Melo. He could never lead his team to greatness, but when did he have the supporting cast to do so? Certainly not in Denver or New York. He was surrounded by talent in Oklahoma City last year, but he's also in the latter stages of his career.

It's fair to question Melo's ability to help a team in 2018. But anyone questioning Melo's legitimacy as a Hall of Famer needs a history lesson.
