Damian Lillard didn't always have beef with Paul George. In fact, the superstar point guard wanted the versatile small forward on the Portland Trail Blazers back in 2017.

At the time of this tweet from Damian Lillard, Paul George had not let the Indiana Pacers know he was looking for a trade. George told the Pacers on June 18, 2017 that he planned to leave in the summer of 2018 to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. Lillard tweeted that he wanted George on the Blazers on June 14, 2017.

The Pacers wound up trading George to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Lillard and the Blazers were linked to a George trade with the Pacers for a little bit, but talks never gained traction.

George played two years with the Thunder before requesting a trade again, this time to the Clippers. His last game with the Thunder was when Lillard hit a shot from almost half-court to eliminate OKC in the first round of the 2019 playoffs. Lillard and George have had bad blood ever since that shot.

It's fun to think about how lethal the Blazers could have been with Lillard, George and CJ McCollum as a Big Three. However, it's been even more intriguing to track this feud between the two All-Stars.

If the Blazers make it past the seeding phase, a series between them and the Clippers sometime after the first round would surely draw plenty of eyes.
