Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki and former Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol headline the FIBA EuroBasket โ€œDream Teamโ€. The two Euro legends, however, are the only NBA players on the fan-voted list of best EuroBasket players by position over the past two decades.

Lithuanian star Sarunas Jasikevicius, and Greek stars Vassilis Spanoulis and Dimitris Diamantidis round out the five with the two European legends.

Nowitzki and Gasol are certainly deserving of the inclusion considering their accomplishments, not just in the NBA, but also in the EuroBasket tournament.

The Mavs superstar, who won an NBA championship in 2011, led the EuroBasket in scoring three times in his career and likewise won the MVP in 2005. He is also the third leading scorer in tournament history. Nowitzki also almost led a short-handed Germany squad to the EuroBasket crown in 2005, just falling short to Greece in the Finals.

Meanwhile, Gasol, a two-time NBA champion, became EuroBasket MVP in 2009 and 2015, and led the tournament in scoring thrice in his career. The 40-year old Spaniard is the all-time leading scorer in EuroBasket history. Gasol also amassed seven medals in the tournament, three of which were gold medals.

Some notable omissions from the list include former San Antonio Spurs All-Star point guard Tony Parker. The Frenchmen had quite an impressive EuroBasket resume, aside from his four championship rings and one Finals MVP trophy in the NBA. Parker won tournament MVP in 2013 and likewise became top scorer in 2011 and 2013. He is also the 2nd all-time leading scorer in tournament history behind Gasol.
