United States President Donald Trump said the NBA will be part of the 120-company list that he would talk to and engage with in terms of the possibility of reopening the economy.

We have to get our sports back,” Trump declared in a speech at the White House on Tuesday.

The POTUS name-dropped NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban as the two individuals he would love to speak with regarding the matter. Interestingly enough, Cuban recently said he'll “keep an open mind” on a possible presidential run in 2022.

Furthermore, the NBA has continued to prepare for the possibility of resuming the 2019-20 regular season, over a month since its suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Silver has been vocal about his desire to bring back the NBA — while abiding by the social distancing protocols — in a bid to help lead a restart of the economy.

Despite getting support from the President, the league will still not proceed with the plan until getting an “all clear” signal from public health officials to resume action.

Trump, meanwhile, will also reportedly sit down with NFL's New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

The USA's highest elected official also made it clear that he will “not rip out every other seat in baseball stadiums and football stadiums” if the plan pushes through.

All major sporting leagues in the world have suspended their respective seasons shortly after the NBA announced its hiatus on March 12.

Among those aggressively trying to bring sports back on television is UFC President Dana White, who is hellbent on putting up a fight card on May 9 after his “fight island” initiative was scrapped.
