More than a few personalities around the NBA gave their take on the recently concluded Presidential Debate between United States President Donald Trump and Democratic bet Joe Biden. One of them was Portland Trail Blazers big man Hassan Whiteside, who seemed to be fed up with the current state of the nation.

Whiteside took to Twitter to come out with his NSFW rant, which he decided to quickly take down presumably in fear of potential backlash:

Whiteside however was quick to claim that this was “fake news”:

If there's any truth to the supposed deleted tweet, Hassan Whiteside has all but given up with America and is now ready to migrate elsewhere. Unfortunately for him, Hawaii is still a U.S. state, so if his intention was to escape from the country, then moving to the sandy beaches of the Pacific island isn't the right move for him. This is probably also one of the reasons why he decided to take down his tweet shortly after publishing it.

We're also not sure about Whiteside leaving the country to turn his back on his basketball career. His current contract expires in the offseason, which means that he will become an unrestricted free agent in a few weeks' time. He earned $27 million last season, and while he isn't likely to pocket a similar amount, he should still be able to attract interest from a number of squads around the league.

Whiteside had a tremendous campaign with Portland in 2019-20, averaging 15.5 points on 62.1 percent shooting, 13.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and a league-leading 2.9 swats in 30.0 minutes of action. The return from injury of Jusuf Nurkic in the bubble hurt Whiteside's value, though, with the Bosnian big man taking over the starting gig from Whiteside upon his return.
