Veteran shooting guard Jamal Crawford doesn't think he'll get signed anytime soon, but says it will happen before the 2019-20 season starts.

Crawford is an unrestricted free agent. He played with the Phoenix Suns last season.

“I don't think it'll happen anytime soon, but I think it will happen,” Crawford told Jeremy Mills on The Jeremy Mills Podcast. “So, it's just a matter of when. Last year prepared me for this year.”

Jamal Crawford averaged 7.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 64 games with the Suns last season while shooting 39.7 percent from the field, 33.2 percent from beyond the arc and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.

On April 9 against the Dallas Mavericks, Crawford made NBA history by scoring 51 points. He became the oldest player in league history to score 50-plus points in a game. Crawford also became the first player ever to score that many points off the bench.

Jamal Crawford, 39, can still get buckets. There has to be some team out there which needs scoring off the bench.

The Los Angeles Lakers have one roster spot available. A lot of Laker fans have been telling Crawford on Twitter to sign with the Lakers. It's not up to Crawford, though. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has to have interest in Crawford first.

Crawford has career averages of 14.6 points in 1,326 NBA games. He's won the Sixth Man of the Year award three times.
