Sixers center Joel Embiid and Thunder guard Russell Westbrook have had a rocky relationship during their time in the NBA, but with the two of the set to play on the same team tomorrow, Embiid said he’s willing to work out their issues.

Speaking to reporters during todays media portion of NBA All-Star Weekend, Embiid was asked if he plans on being cordial or trying to be cool with the Thunder point guard. “We’re on the same team. I’m willing to work it out.” He said, while Westbrook was a bit more coy in his responses, hitting the media with a “next question” when asked about the Sixers big man.

The beef between the two players started out innocently enough, but seemed to explode earlier this year, where Westbrook was hit with a hard foul by Embiid and needed to be restrained by his teammates when he charged at Embiid. According to Embiid, he doesn't like any players once they're on the court, but when they're on the same team, he's “willing to make it work,” so it'll be interesting to see how things go once both players take the court.

When the NBA All-Star Draft initially took place, Russell Westbrook and Joel Embiid were placed on separate teams, but due to a mid-draft trade between LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Westbrook made his way to Team Giannis.

We’ve seen two players with bad blood playing in an All-Star game before, when Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook exchanged an infamous alley-oop in the year following their split, but it remains to be seen how Westbrook and Joel will interact – if at all – once the game begins tomorrow night.
