The blockbuster trade between the Toronto Raptors and the San Antonio Spurs this offseason will definitely be one for the books. Even though the dust has finally settled between the two teams, the All-Stars involved in Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan might be forever intertwined in their careers.

Mired by controversy and rumors, the All-Star switch of now-Raptor Kawhi Leonard and now-Spur DeMar DeRozan will always be a point of discussion when you put both stars side by side. Outside of a trade connection between them, there is something recent that is eerily similar that goes beyond that.

In the videos below, it can be seen that both players in their debuts for their respective team and making their first shots. The wild thing about their buckets is the fact that they were made in the same area of the court. Call it a sweet spot or their go-to move, but getting the same mid-range jumper on nearly the same spot is just too strange for these two.

However, beyond the trade and those shots, the extent of the ties that relate these two might not go further. As Leonard migrated to the north, it puts them in a position to rule the east, while DeRozan's addition to Texas has the franchise still in limbo compared to their golden era.

Although contract-wise, DeRozan is locked for a few more years while Leonard can simply walk out of Toronto next summer. The winner or loser of the trade may still be unclear as of now, but keeping an eye out for both teams is definite for this upcoming season.
