Known for manning the point guard position during the four-year run of the LeBron James-led Miami Heat, former Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mario Chalmers is healthy again and garnering interest from the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears.

Chalmers played 66 games with the Grizzlies last year after not playing a game in the NBA during the 2016-17 season. He suffered a torn Achilles at the end of the 2015-16 season, and last year he dealt with hamstring problems.

But now Chalmers is healthy and ready to contribute. Losing Jeremy Lin recently to the Hawks has prompted the Nets' search for a backup point guard for D'Angelo Russell. The Pelicans also lost a floor general in Rajon Rondo and is looking at Chalmers as a backup to Jrue Holiday.

The Mavs' case is a bit trickier than the previously mentioned teams given they have already drafted prized playmaker Luka Doncic to partner with young point guard Dennis Smith Jr. The team could be looking at Chalmers as a serviceable veteran presence in case of injuries to their top guards.

Just 32 years old, Chalmers should still have plenty left in the tank. The point guard put up 7.7 points, 3.0 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game last season, and his aggressive style of defense has resulted in at least a steal per game in each of his previous seasons.
