Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, is sending feelers in hopes for an NBA comeback with his latest tweet.

The playoffs are right around the corner and some teams are looking to lock in their final roster. World Peace is no stranger to this situation having played for 19 years in the league.

His latest tweet revealed his interest in coming back in the NBA for the playoffs:

Certainly, World Peace, now 38 years old, still possesses the confidence that he had when he was still playing.

To recall, he won a ring with the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant back in the 2009-2010 season. He was a stellar defender and won the Defensive player of the year award in 2004 and was twice named to the All-NBA Defensive First Team, and twice in the All-NBA Defensive Second Team. For his career, he averaged 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.

But more than the statistics, it was his tenacity and aggression on the court which made him valuable to every team he played for throughout his career.

In an article by Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype from 2017, World Peace was cited by several players when asked who was the toughest player they ever went up against.

Dorell Wright, who played for 11 seasons in the NBA said:

“Tony Allen, Ron Artest (also known as Metta World Peace) and Kobe Bryant were the toughest. Kobe would try to get into you and move you. And Tony and Ron were so good.

DerMarr Johnson, who played for seven years in the NBA said:

“Ron Artest because his size, strength and long arms. He made it hard to get anywhere on the floor.
