The NBA has entered a new era. For the most part, the days of big men banging in the paint are over. Now, in an analytic-driven league, more and more players are taking shots from behind the arc — even the bigs. In fact, more threes were made in the 2018-19 regular season than any other.

According to an official report from the NBA, players made a total of 27,955 threes this season, which is good for a new record:

Houston Rockets All-Star James Harden led the charge in this category with a whopping 378 threes made. Golden State’s Stephen Curry claimed the No. 2 spot with 354 shots made from downtown. Thunder swingman Paul George (292 3PFGM) rounds out the top three.

Other notable players on this list include Buddy Hield (4th with 278 3PFGM this season), Kemba Wlaker (260) and Klay Thompson (241). To view the list in its entirety, fans can head over to this link from Basketball Reference.

Of the players listed in the top ten of this category, Curry came away with the highest percentage. The former Davidson standout knocked down 43.7 percent of his three-point shots, which ranks fourth among active players this season.

With the regular season in the books, players still in the hunt have shifted their focus to the postseason push. The stakes will be high, but the threes will likely continue to rain down.
