Retired NBA star Paul Pierce was ambushed by TMZ Sports for an interview recently and was asked for his take on whether LiAngelo Ball, brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, is going to hear his name get called in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Unlike most people, Pierce did not guffaw at the thought of LiAngelo Ball making it to the NBA. In fact, the former Boston Celtics scoring machine believes the 19-year-old baller has a “good shot” of being selected by an NBA team in June.

“I think he got a good shot man, you know. I hope all the Ball brothers make it to the league. I’m a true supporter to all California young hoopers.”

Pierce also said that he is not sure whether LaVar Ball’s dream of seeing his three sons play on one NBA team together will come true, but he seemingly has no problems if that ever happens.

“I don’t know if that will happen. I just wish them good luck.”

It could be remembered that LiAngelo Ball started the 2017-18 basketball season with the UCLA Bruins, but after his involvement in a shoplifting incident in China that resulted in a suspension and later, in his departure from the program, he and brother LaMelo was brought to Lithuania by LaVar to play professional basketball.

LiAngelo declared for the 2018 NBA Draft on Tuesday, though most scouts do not have him on their radars. He scored 72 points for Prienu Vytautas in a 159-115 victory over Guangdong, but he’s going to need to churn out more Chamberlain-esque numbers before getting serious looks from NBA teams.
