In the wake of the sudden passing of Kobe Bryant, the NBA has decided to postpone the Los Angeles Lakers versus Los Angeles Clippers match-up. The game was scheduled to take place at the Staples Center on Tuesday. The league has yet to announce the replacement date for the highly anticipated game. But there will be two viable options as far as the availability of Staples is concerned.

The Clippers and Lakers can have their third encounter of the season either on February 19 or April 10. The Staples Center is also free from any other commitments during those dates. The Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League, who also call Staples their home, do not have scheduled home games during that stretch.

The Lakers and Clippers are the only teams in the league to share a home floor. The Clips got the better of The Purple and Gold in their first two encounters.

After acquiring big names in the offseason, the two Los Angeles-based teams are primed as strong contenders for the Larry O'Brien trophy this season. The Lakers are still at the top of the Western Conference with a 36-10 slate. Meanwhile, the Clippers are not that far behind at third with a 33-14 record. The Clippers and Lakers are scheduled to face each other for the fourth and final time this season on March 8th.

The NBA, meanwhile, has taken flak for not canceling all the scheduled games on Sunday. This after news broke of Bryant's shocking death. The league performed heartwarming gestures and tributes on Sunday in honor of the All-Time great.
