The NBA is still reeling after the worst altercation of this season occurred during the Miami Heat-Denver Nuggets game on Monday night. Heat forward Markieff Morris and Nuggets center Nikola Jokic were each ejected for their involvements in the shoving match late in the fourth quarter. That got both Marcus Morris and the Jokic brothers to chime in quickly.

After the game, Marcus, brother of the involved Markieff, took to Twitter to express how he felt about the incident:

After the dust had settled and everyone began to move on, Nikola Jokic's brothers decided to join the party. The two, who apparently created a new Twitter account just to respond to Marcus Morris, issued a warning to him via a tweet:

The two went back and forth a few more times, but nothing much was really said outside of what was already said.

When asked about the play on Tuesday night, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue admitted he did see it, and knows his player would only try to defend his brother in a similar situation.

ā€œI don't have social media, but I did see the play,ā€ Lue said before the Clippers' matchup against the Blazers. ā€œAnd I'm pretty sure Marcus is gonna try and protect his brother as well, but I don't get into it, that's their thing.ā€

When it was all said and done, the NBA announced a one-game suspension for Nikola Jokic, a $50,000 fine for Markieff Morris, and a $30,000 fine for Heat forward Jimmy Butler. Many feel the one-game suspension wasn't enough, but Jokic's remorseful postgame press conference may have helped in easing the penalty.

ā€œI don't know who showed me the clip, but [Morris'] head snapped back,ā€ Jokic said after the incident. ā€œI felt really bad.ā€

As of right now, Marcus Morris is not healthy enough to be in the Clippers' lineup, so facing a couple of Balkans is likely out of the equation. In all seriousness, though, Morris is continuing to strengthen and condition his knee, which has given him issues since the 2021 postseason.

ā€œHe's been on the court working, being in the weight room, conditioning, things like that,ā€ Lue added. ā€œHe hasn't played any five-on-five in the last couple days, but he played prior to, so we'll see.ā€

Here was Morris last week participating in five-on-five practices with Serge Ibaka, Justise Winslow, and some members of the coaching staff:

Marcus' Clippers are set to face off against Markieff's Heat on Thursday night when Miami visits Los Angeles for a back-to-back set against the Lakers and Clippers. The Clippers don't face the Nuggets until Dec. 26 in Los Angeles, which might be notable if this feud is still a thing.
