NBA fans could be in store for an epic rematch between Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine and Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon at this season's Slam Dunk Contest.

Gordon has stated that he would love to participate in the event again. It was far from a commitment, but it's clear that he's open to the idea:

Meanwhile, LaVine hinted at Bulls Media Day that he's interested in participating again. All-Star Weekend is in Chicago this season.

LaVine, now 24 years of age, is a two-time winner of the NBA's Slam Dunk Contest, winning the event in 2015 and 2016. As a result, he is now one of just five players who have won the competition twice (Dominique Wilkins, Michael Jordan, Harold Miner, Jason Richardson).

Gordon and Lavine met in the championship round of the 2016 Slam Dunk Contest. Both players came up with creative jams, but it was Lavine who walked away with the trophy in the end. The Bulls guard was given perfect scores in each of his five dunks:

“I don't know what we just did, but that was creative,” LaVine said via USA TODAY after the victory.

Whether or not we'll see these two stars competing in this season's Slam Dunk Contest remains to be seen, but it certainly sounds like they're interested in the idea.
