The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will play on Tuesday night in an inter-conference matchup. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Celtics-Lakers prediction and pick.

The Celtics and Lakers will play as their storied rivalry continues on Tuesday night. Each team has had ups and downs early this season, still looking for the best versions of themselves. Boston has won six of their last 10 games as they have been a bit better of late. The Lakers continue to sit at .500 as they can't seem to find a groove after adding Russell Westbrook to the fold. LeBron James has been in and out of the lineup this season and the Lakers have been unable to find their rhythm.

Why The Celtics Can Cover The Spread

Boston has been better of late, as their offense has came to life a bit. The defense has be sound all season under new coach Ime Udoka, but the offense sputtered out of the gate. The Celtics scored 145 points in their last game, which was a win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Jayson Tatum has picked it up a bit of late after struggling to start the year. The Celtics could be in a good position to cover and win as road underdogs vs. a Lakers team that has not been good so far this season. Jaylen Brown is questionable, so that will be a big thing to watch before betting on the Celtics.

Boston is 7-7 on the road this season, and 12-10-1 vs. the spread. Boston is a sneaky play as a group that has been better of late vs. a middling Lakers team.

Why The Lakers Can Cover The Spread

The Lakers continue to search for rhythm but have not been able to find it. They continue to be banged up, it seems. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both probable entering Tuesday's game vs. Boston, while Carmelo Anthony is questionable. The Lakers have been unable to find any consistency this season between legitimate fit issues and injuries. James has missed a big chunk of the season, so maybe Los Angeles will continue to improve as he becomes more of a staple in the lineup. Davis has struggled a bit defensively so far this season, but it's a long year and veterans sometimes go through the process of working things out early in the season. Los Angeles will look to win for the third time in their last four games in hopes of maybe hitting a groove.

The Lakers are 8-7 at home so far this season and 8-16 vs. the spread.

Final Celtics-Lakers Prediction & Pick

This might be a close one, as these teams appear to be somewhat evenly matched. The Lakers are hard to trust at this point as they have been so inconsistent this season. Take the Celtics and the points in this one, as Boston has been hot of late as they have won three of their last four games. It is tough to fade LeBron James and the Lakers, but they have been awful vs. the spread this season and the Celtics look like the better team right now.

Final Celtics-Lakers Prediction & Pick: Celtics +2.5 (-110)
