The Atlanta Hawks have been on an unlucky stretch of late. They've been devastated by injuries and haven't had a chance to showcase any of their true talent. The Hawks were one of the hottest teams leading up to the deadline. The Hawks are 9-3 since Nate McMillan took over. Those three losses have come within the last four games, though. The Hawks have been hoping for some good news and may have received some.
Kris Dunn has returned to practice and is on the road with the team. This should reinvigorate this team a bit as Dunn was brought on this season to add a spark on the defensive end. There is a slight chance he accelerates his time table and gets back on the court tonight, but we shouldn't bank on it. We just hope that this news adds a little life to a lifeless team right now. The line has moved in Atlanta's favor, meaning tickets are coming in on the Hawks. The Suns are returning home from a road trip, which may lead to an energy advantage for Atlanta.
Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread
The Phoenix Suns took care of business on their recent four game road skid. They went 3-1 and are now 16-6 on the road this season, which is the best in the NBA. Phoenix didn't make any deals at the deadline, but did add Torrey Craig for some added depth. Craig was waived by Milwaukee when they acquired PJ Tucker. The Suns have one of the deepest rosters in the league and get contributions down the line every night.
In the most recent win against Charlotte, the Suns put their potent offense on full display. After being tied at the half, Phoenix pulled out to a nine-point third quarter lead in the victory. Devin Booker led the way with 35 points and had plenty of help from his squad. Deandre Ayton put up 14 points and 14 rebounds and Mikal Bridges did it all, going for 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists, six steals, and a block in the win. Behind Chris Paul, this team is capable of winning in all fashions. A depleted Hawks team on the sixth leg on an eight-game road trip should be no match for the lethal Suns in Phoenix.

I'm not sure why the line has moved toward Atlanta in this one. All the Suns have done all year long is beat up on teams like Atlanta. They are one of the best teams in the NBA and are actually healthy. The Hawks have more guys banged up than anyone in the league right now and don't have the firepower to keep up with Phoenix at full strength. This game has serious blowout potential and I'm thanking the public for driving this line down and creating more value for us.
