The Memphis Grizzlies are heavily unlikely to trade their No. 2 selection in Thursday's 2019 NBA Draft, now surely locked onto drafting Ja Morant of Murray State with the pick, according to SNY's Ian Begley.

The Grizzlies would need to receive an “incredibly strong offer” to warrant thinking about trading their pick, especially considering they traded away their franchise point guard Mike Conley on Wednesday, which only makes room for the soon-to-be rookie point guard extraordinaire to slide right into that seat.

Memphis has loved Morant since he first worked out with them, and unlike the Duke duo of Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, the triple-double machine isn't concerned with playing in a small market.

Morant played for the less-known Murray State Racers in the same backyard of college powerhouse Kentucky, making his way up the draft boards early, despite having only three mid-major offers after finishing his high school career.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound dynamo showed a great deal of work ethic after improving plenty from his freshman year, showing his potential in the NCAA Tournament with a statement win over Marquette with a 17-point, 16-assist, 11-rebound performance and putting up 31 points in a blowout loss to Florida State.

Morant was eighth in scoring in the nation (24.6 points on 50% shooting), while leading Division I with 10 assists per game.

The Grizzlies have likely found their point guard of the future, all signs point to that, and it's unfathomable that they would reconsider, unless another team is willing to make a Godfather-type offer that they simply can't refuse.
