With the NBA trade deadline approaching on Thursday, many trade rumors have been circulating around the league. According to Boston Celtics general manager and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, several teams have already contacted them to discuss trades.

The Celtics have many young assets on their team, including Tacko Fall, Carson Edwards and Semi Ojeleye. They also have a handful of 2020 first-round picks that could be included in a trade package.

Boston is currently third in the Eastern Conference with a 33-15 record. Despite their outstanding performance, however, they have significantly lacked bench scoring. Smart is the most productive bench player they have, averaging  12.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

In addition, the Celtics have also lacked dominant big man at the center position. Recently, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that Boston has engaged with the Houston Rockets about a potential deal for Clint Capela.

In 39 games, the Swiss big is averaging 13.9 points, 13.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 32.8 minutes. The 25-year-old is shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from the free-throw line.

With the Eastern Conference up for grabs, Danny Ainge will most likely seek a trade to strengthen their roster. After all, the Celtics could be a couple of players away from becoming the favorites to win the East. However, it is worth noting that hasn't pursued any trades during the regular season in the last few years.

It'll be interesting to see what Ainge will do before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday.
