Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine's name has come up in trade rumors recently. With the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly listening to offers for small forward Kyle Kuzma, some around the league believe a trade sending LaVine to the Lakers and Kuzma to the Bulls would benefit both sides ahead of the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline.

However, according to Sam Smith of Bulls.com, the Bulls are not considering trading LaVine:

I'm not giving up on Lauri Markkanen at all, and no, they are not considering trading Zach LaVine. They've been doing all they can to promote him for the All-Star team, and if you ever are near Boylen on the bench late in games, you'll get a sense of the game plan. Get the ball to Zach! He's a keeper. The Bulls need others to become that.

LaVine has appeared in 46 games this season. He's averaging 25.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 44.5 percent from the field, 39.0 percent from beyond the arc and 82.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Chicago is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings. They will likely remain in the NBA playoff picture all season since the back half of the East is pretty bad.

LaVine is making $19,500,000 this season. He signed a four-year, $78 million offer sheet with the Sacramento Kings in 2018, which the Bulls quickly matched. They clearly view him as a franchise cornerstone, even as the first three years of their post-Jimmy Butler rebuild haven't gone as planned.
